Across the span of six weeks, 24 different Sangat members participated in an HGRD Ashram visioning process and training facilitated by Sardarni Guru Amrit Kaur.
June 9th we completed a draft mission statement, vision statement, and core values for Hacienda de Guru Ram Das Ashram & Community.

We have a vision... 100% Healthy, Delicious, Organic Langars offered at HGRD every day of the week... Seva Sadhana is doing its part step by step to live into this vision. We continue to produce Tuesday & Thursday langars from preparation and service, to cleanup - and we also help cover the gaps in funding to produce these meals. We believe in this vision, we believe that food is medicine, when prepared in the house of Guru Ram Das the Guru's hand is preparing the meals and all who receive the food also receive the blessing of the Guru.
Started in 2016, the Seva Sadhana Program is about two years old, and continues to pick up momentum since its inception. In order to meet all operating expenses the program still relies on donations, however a thorough strategy for 2019 promises fiscal solvency by 2020, and the projection for generating abundance and the ability to create more jobs by 2021.
The Seva Sadhana Program serves as a structure for which participants may experience the healthy, happy, holy, lifestyle teachings of Yogi Bhajan. The program offers the opportunity to live in spiritual community, rise in the ambrosial pre-dawn hours and practice Kundalini Yoga / Aquarian Sadhana, and serve selflessly for the good of others and our planet.

The garden has been growing nicely during this summer solstice season. In-season crops that we have harvested for this weeks Langar: green leaf lettuce, chard, beet greens & kale!
Since February we have been busy. Our lead farm manager Shakti Priya Kaur (Leah) has been diligently serving and guiding Sevadars in garden service for the community.
Together we have planted 2500 onions & 100lbs of potato seed. We've acquired and planted native organic heirloom seed at local exchange, providing a nice variety for the Legacy Garden.
On August 2nd, 2017 I began my drive to Espanola, New Mexico. I was going with the intention of taking the 28 day immersion Yoga Teacher training to become a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher.
Endings are never easy. But neither are beginnings. I got myself out of bed at three in the morning today and that pressing feeling weighed on me. I am leaving the ashram today. For the past two wonderful weeks, this place has been home to me – a place of refuge. Each day has been a gift – an intertwinement of self reflection, expansion and deep interactions.
